Luke Casey reports from the Charlaw Inn in Edmondsley, ahead of the much-anticipated Leek Show of 1975. This year, superstar leek growers like reigning champion Dennis Curtain, talented upstart Nickel Robson and seasoned veteran Sid Bunn will be joined in the competition for the first time by women growers – though nobody seriously expects a woman to win in this most masculine of pursuits.
